Born in Ardmore, PA, Arnie was raised above his father’s drugstore and soda fountain where he developed a love for ice cream that he indulged throughout his entire life. He served as a U.S. Army Cipher stationed in the Pacific during World War II, and later graduated from Temple University. For more than 40 years, he had a notable career in radio marketing and promotion, working for major stations including WIP in Philadelphia and WNEW in New York City. In 1975, he moved with his family to Atlanta, where he served as Marketing and Promotion Director for WGST and WPCH until his retirement in 1998. Throughout his adult life, he was an active participant in the Jewish community, serving as President of Temple Shalom in Matawan, NJ, and later held offices in congregations in Summit, NJ and Bayshore, Long Island. Most recently, he served as an officer and board member of Temple Sinai in Atlanta. He also edited the congregational bulletin for 20 years, gaining fame for his annual Purim satires. So sorry for your loss. I did not know Mr Katinsky but know his son David through the North Springs debate club (1975 -1978). Mr Katinsky must have been a good man to have raised with his wife David because he was a very intelligent and funny young man.

Barbara, words are never sufficient during times like this but in this place it's all I have. I was not privileged to have a friendship with you, we only passed each other in the hallways or around the pool but watching the interaction of you both as you sat around the pool reading together it seemed you were always so attentive to each other it brought a smile. Please allow me to help in any way,at any time, I'm only a few steps away. May the peace of God that passes all our earthly understanding hold you close and give you strength as you begin to make decisions in a different way, on a new path,jo

Dearest Jon &Mike, i am so very sorry for the loss of your precious Father, Arnie. My thoughts and prayers are with you, your Mom and the entire Katinsky clan. I truly hope you find solace knowing your exceptionally kind, tremendously likeable, legendary Dad is resting in eternal peace. May the memories of your time together wrap you and your sweet Mom in a blanket of comfort. One of the most beautiful and fulfilling phases of the grieving process is beginning to keenly remember his words of admonishment and advice you may have dismissed or ignored in the past. Over time you will appreciate and see it as a true gift. God bless you all!

Barbara, how fortunate you, the family and all of us were to have Arnie in our lives for so long. I know it wasn't long enough. It never is. You and Arnie were my first friends at Sinai when I met Lenny. You both signed our Ketubah. We treasured your friendship. My heart hurts for you. Now you begin a new journey. Be strong. There are so many people who loved Arnie, and who love you, including me. Lien on us.
