  • OBITUARY:
Charlotte Fleisher, 89, of Atlanta, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 6, 2017. She was born January 21, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY to Esther and Samuel Charyn, both of blessed memory. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 24 years, Seymour Conrad Fleisher; and siblings: Selma Capelton, Sylvia Fredson, and Milton Charyn. Charlotte and Seymour moved to Atlanta in 1955, where they were long-active members of the Jewish Community, fighting hard for the establishment of Solomon Schecter Day School, known today as the Epstein School. The daughter of immigrants, she had a passion for the State of Israel and enjoyed a long career as business manager for JF&CS. Charlotte’s greatest priority was her love and dedication to her children and grandsons: her proudest accomplishment. She truly believed in the teachings of the Torah and always put others before herself - her home and table were always open to a “stranger in need.” She is survived by her daughters, Mindy Fleisher Ward (John) and Jodi Fleisher; son, Scott Fleisher; and grandsons, Shane and Wryan Ward. Sign online guestbook: www.edressler.com. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs, with Cantor Nancy Kassel officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Friends of the Israel Defense Fund, www.fidf.org. Arrangements by Dressler’s Jewish Funeral Care, 770-451-4999.

Dear Scott, I am so sad to learn we lost Charlotte yesterday. I have loved her these past few years, since first I met her at the gym and subsequently enjoying our monthly Lunch Bunch sessions. I have a tremendous respect for her bravery in the face of her disability. It was my pleasure to take her back and forth to the gym these past few years. I knew she wanted to get out and socialize. Then we formed the Lunch Bunch and we got to know her even better. My prayers are with you and your sisters on the loss of your dear mother. I will miss her. Andree London

Mindy and family: Charlotte was one of my role models. She was smart, funny and very inspiring. Our talks at the gym meant a lot to me and her hugs comforted me. I will miss her and always remember her. Love, Sheila Muldoon

Charlotte was an integral part of "our lunch bunch" She loved to eat at Roasters and have chicken white bean soup. She knew my parents Arnold and Gloria Whiteman. I am sad. My condolences and look forward to seeing you. Scott may remember Scott Whiteman, my brother. Valerie Whiteman Warga Andree London

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of our dear friend, neighbor and fellow Board member at Foxcroft. Most recently I would have the pleasure of seeing her and son, Scott, shopping for groceries at Publix. I will remember her fondly.

I adored that "Brooklynite" because she was straightforward, honest, a hard worker and sincerely kind. Charlotte lived across the street on Ridge Valley but I never met her. The day I met dear Charlotte at JF&CS it was a breath of fresh air to find this no-nonsense woman. My kind of person. I admired her courage, strength, and much more about her.

My time with Charlotte truly started since she moved into Jewish Tower. I'm so sorry that I didn't have the time to hear more of her life than she told me. She was so proud of her family and the people she has known along the way. She was a strong lady and certainly beat me walking down the halls here in the building. Charlotte was a very special lady and I'm glad to have had even a short time with her. My thoughts are with all of Charlotte's family Betty Golden
