    Irene Tabackman, age 98, of Rockville, Maryland died on January 23, 2017. Irene was born and raised in Portage, PA. She, along with six of her siblings, served in the U.S. armed forces during WWII where she attained the rank of Lieutenant. She spent her career as a Nurse Anesthetist retiring from Greenville General Hospital in 1983. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Bobbie and Michael Leff, Atlanta and Debra and Joel Rotkow, Savannah; grandchildren, Kevin and Jennifer Leff, Barry and Amy Leff, and Eric and Victoria Rotkow; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Nina, Alex, Evan, and Zahava; many devoted nieces and nephews, including her loving and devoted niece, Roz Spott and caregiver, Melba Bartholomew, both who cared for Irene for the last years of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe, her sisters and brothers and her beautiful granddaughter, Stephanie Rotkow. Sign on-line guestbook: Graveside services will be held 2:00 pm today, January 25 at Greenwood Cemetery with Rabbi Joshua Heller officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Stephanie Rotkow Fund at Congregation Bnai Brith Jacob, 5444 Abercorn St, Savannah, GA 31405.
