  • OBITUARY:
Richard Dale Mesnick, 62, suddenly passed away on Sunday, April 10. Richard, a Cleveland native, was a loving father, who enjoyed playing Wii games, checkers, cards and making comedy routines with his daughter, Ariel. Richard loved sports, especially softball and baseball, and fondly recalled his years of playing in high school and at Kent State University. He continued to play softball when he moved to Atlanta in 1978. He also enjoyed raquetball and tennis. In Atlanta, Richard was a financial planner and personnel recruiter. We will miss Richardís sense of humor, and kind and gentle spirit. He was an animal lover who loved his Black Labrador Retriever, Charmin and all his cats to follow. Richard is survived by his daughter, Ariel, his sisters, Violet and Nancy and his brother Gary (Ellen), in addition to cousin, Marlene Colon, numerous other cousins, nieces Nicole Mesnick, Aimee Mesnick Tran (Vinny, Kaiden and Noelle) and Melissa Mesnick, and nephew David Mesnick. Arrangements handled by Dresslerís Jewish Funeral Care, Atlanta, 770-451-4999. Graveside service will be held at Arlington Memorial Park on Wednesday, April 13 at 12:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Epstein School, Congregation Or Hadash, or American Parkinsonís Disease Association

I have warm thoughts of Richard. I've known him my whole life. From Elementary school all the way through. Hadn't seen Rich for years. I got a kick out of him. My last memory is of playing ping-pong with him at a house he rented in University Hts. I smacked him in the head with the ball. Not much of a game as I couldn't return any of his serves. I'll think of him from time to time and remember his great smile.

So sorry to hear the news. Fortunately we were able to spend some time with Richard in Colorado in 2007. Have many fond memories from childhood in South Euclid through college at Kent State. Rest in Peace. Rich Eckstein Ron Baker
